Results of Offshore Round 1 - Offshore International Public Bidding No. 1

TOTAL AUSTRAL, together with YPF and Equinor, won the bidding for Block MLO 123 of Malvinas Oeste Basin within the framework of Offshore International Public Bidding No. 1, pursuant to Decree No. 872/2018.

Besides, TOTAL AUSTRAL, together with BP, won the bidding for Blocks CAN 111 and 113 of the Argentina Norte Basin. 

The goal of this bidding process is to award permits for exploration and eventually hydrocarbon development in the Argentine continental shelf.

Following the opening of envelopes, the expected date for the award of areas to successful bidders is May 16.

We believe that this bidding process is a milestone in the study and value of offshore reserves in Argentina, where there is a great hydrocarbon potential”, stated Dominique Marion, CEO of Total Austral. And added: “In Total Austral we are committed to the development of the power industry in Argentina for more than 40 years. This initiative is one more chance to show our commitment to meeting the growing power demand in the country”.
